Delivering Maintenance Excellence to Oman LNG – 20 Years and counting!
In 1999, TOCO was awarded the initial 5 years contract for the General Maintenance Services at Oman Liquefied Natural Gas (OLNG) plant in Sur, Sultanate of Oman. Since then TOCO has been the Client’s preferred contractor for the facilities maintenance due to TOCO’s track record:
- High standard of Safety compliance
- Delivering Quality
- Meeting schedule
- Management and workforce commitment
TOCO was awarded with another 5 year contract in 2004, and after a further 2 year extension have now been awarded a further 5 year contract with an option for extension of 3 years.
The General Maintenance Service Contract comprises of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Scaffolding, Insulation, Painting and Civil works in both maintenance and corrective work scope.
The challenge is ensuring plant integrity, increasing availability, reducing down time and meeting seasonal demand of additional workforce of over 500 in an extremely complex LNG process plant. Twice a year the plant shuts down for extensive maintenance works around April and September. During these periods additional Manpower of various disciplines are mobilised on short term basis to complete the work scopes within the allocated time frame of the Shutdown.
TOCO in association with OLNG has established a world class maintenance management system to deliver operational excellence. The partnership approach has emerged as an extremely effective solution since it minimized communication and interface issues seen in traditional ‘client-contractor’ setup. TOCO’s proven source country recruitment and skill assessment system ensured induction of high caliber employees. The efficient recruitment system is credited for effectively managing high volume short term mobilisations.
TOCO has worked without a Lost Time Incident (LTI) since beginning of contract in 1999 and has received various awards and appreciations from the Client.
The Oman LNG maintenance contract is a true demonstration of TOCO’s position as the contractor of choice for integrated maintenance of gas processing plants.
