TOCO in association with our client and funding partners Oman LNG and Ministry of Manpower, is pleased to announce the induction ceremony of a new batch of ten Omani trainees who will undergo a comprehensive and tailored training programme developed by our training partner Takatuf Petrofac Oman (TPO) . An opening ceremony of this programme was conducted on 11 August 2021 at the TPO training centre located at Knowledge Oasis, Muscat. The event was attended by senior officials from Oman LNG, TOCO and TPO along with the new batch of trainees.

The twelve months programme involves classroom and on-site training. The programme includes Technical English, NVQ Level 2 vocational training, hazardous awareness, JTL Foundation Plus course and practical on-site training. This unique programme is expected to produce specialised and highly skilled technicians who will be installing, operating, inspecting and maintaining Ex Equipment typically installed within hazardous zones of process plants. The trainees will also get an opportunity to certify themselves to ‘CompEx Qualification’ – a coveted international standard for competency validation and certification of personnel who work in explosive atmospheres.

These candidates are expected to be among the first batch Omani nationals to have achieved this specialised qualification to work within the Oil & Gas sector in Oman.
